Grant FAQ

Q: What are your deadlines for submission of an application?

A: Deadlines for History of Art and Conservation grants are January 15, April 15, and October 15.  Applications for Digital Resources grants are due on April 15 and October 15 and applications for Responsive Grants are accepted at any time.

Q: My application is not appropriate for Kress support.  Do you know of any other organization to which I can apply?

A: The Foundation Center is an excellent online resource with a database of grant makers and other helpful information for those seeking funding.

Repository: Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH

Sofonisba Anguissola (1528-1625) was active in Madrid and Genoa, and she spent her late years in Palermo. There van Dyck sketched her a year before her death and described her as spirited and interesting although nearly blind.
