Changes to the Kress Foundation’s Grants and Fellowships Application Process, Effective Immediately

As announced in June of this year, the Kress Foundation has recently adopted a widely-used online grants management system (Fluxx). Effective immediately, all grant and fellowship applications must be initiated through Kress’s new online portal. This new system will allow the Foundation’s current and prospective grantees to manage the entire application and grantmaking process online at every stage, from an initial expression of interest to proposal submission and review, and from monitoring payments to completing interim and final reports.

In an additional effort to improve the grant application process, we are implementing a new Letter of Inquiry (LOI) step for all those applying for the History of Art, Conservation, or Digital Resources Grants Programs. The LOI will require a brief summary of the proposed project, along with the total project budget and the amount sought from the Foundation. The LOI must be submitted one month in advance of a given grant application deadline. Please note that the LOI process will only be required for applications to the Foundation’s grant programs, and not for any fellowship programs (History of Art Institutional Fellowships, Interpretive Fellowships in Art Museums, and Conservation Fellowships). A successful LOI submission does not guarantee grant funding from the Foundation.

Please consult the Grants: How to Apply and Fellowships: How to Apply pages for important dates and deadlines.

The first submissions accepted in the new system will be the History of Art Institutional Fellowship applications. Kress’s online portal will open for Institutional Fellowship applicants on November 1, 2018. Our website has been updated to reflect this change.

We believe the adoption of our online portal will both streamline and simplify the application and grantmaking process for current and prospective grantees as well as for Foundation staff. Please let us know if you have any questions at info@kressfoundation.org.
