In Recognition of Esteemed Trustees, David Rumsey & Barbara A. Shailor
On October 26, 2016, David Rumsey and Barbara A. Shailor concluded their service as Trustees of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. The board resolved, in recognition of their many years of outstanding service, to express its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Rumsey and Ms. Shailor. Mr. Rumsey joined the Board of Trustees in 2004 and served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, and Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee until his retirement. Ms. Shailor was elected to the Board in 2002 and was a member of the Finance and Audit Committee from September 2005 until her retirement.
Serving in these capacities both Mr. Rumsey and Ms. Shailor made singular contributions to the history and programs of the Foundation. The presence of Ms. Shailor, an outstanding scholar, and Mr. Rumsey, a visionary digital humanist, assured the Board of wise counsel, experienced officers, esteemed and trusted friends and colleagues. The Samuel H. Kress Foundation is and shall remain profoundly indebted to Mr. Rumsey and Ms. Shailor for their many contributions and extraordinary service.
