Ken Lee Joins the Samuel H. Kress Foundation’s Board of Trustees
Ken Lee, Director of Investments at the Carnegie Corporation of New York, has been elected a Trustee of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, effective immediately. Mr. Lee joins a seven member board that works with the President and staff to advance the goals of the Foundation.
Speaking on behalf of the Board, Chair Carmela V. Franklin stated, “We are delighted to welcome Ken Lee as a trustee to share in the work of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. We will benefit greatly from his substantial investment and endowment management expertise. As well as from his commitment to a range of artistic and aesthetic traditions.”
As Director of Investments at Carnegie Corporation of New York, Mr. Lee co-leads its portfolio strategy for marketable investments, and he also manages the Corporation’s U.S. venture capital and growth equity activities in private markets. Prior to joining Carnegie Corporation of New York in 2012, Mr. Lee served as a senior investment professional in New York and London at Fauchier Partners, a hedge fund-of-funds that managed money on behalf of pensions, insurers, endowments, foundations, single family offices and government entities outside the United States. Previously, Mr. Lee worked as an investment associate at Horsley Bridge Partners, a private equity fund-of-funds manager, in San Francisco and London. Mr. Lee began his career as an investment banking analyst in the San Francisco office of Robertson Stephens, a boutique investment bank focused on growth companies.
Mr. Lee serves as Treasurer and a member of the Finance and Rector’s Advisory Committees of the Church of St. Luke in the Fields (Episcopal) in New York City’s West Village. He is married and has one daughter. Mr. Lee holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Yale College, where he studied Economics, as well as East Asian Studies, with a focus on the History of Art.
