Pontormo

Jacopo Carucci, called Pontormo, from his birthplace, Pontormo, near Empoli. Florentine School. Born 1494; died 1557.(1) He is said to have studied in the studios of Leonardo da Vinci, Albertinelli, and Piero di Cosimo, before becoming the pupil and assistant of Andrea del Sarto, who had the greatest influence on his style.
