Bridgeport, Conn., Museum of Art, Science and Industry, Study Collection, since 1962. Wood. A, 12 7/8 x 8 1/8 in. (32.6 x 20.7 cm.); B, 12 3/4 x 8 1/4 in. (32.4 x 21 cm.). Good condition. These two panels, from some dismembered polyptych, are clearly related to the work of Pietro Lorenzetti, to whom they have been attributed by some critics.(1) They probably date from the second half of the fourteenth century. Provenance: Private Collection, Citta di Castello. Contini Bonacossi, Florence. Kress acquisition, 1939.
