2010 – 2025

The Kress Foundation established the Interpretive Fellowships in Art Museums program in 2010 to provide opportunities for emerging professionals to gain exposure to careers in art museums in both curatorial and educational roles. The intended format of the fellowship was for fellows to work on a year-long project that bridged both curatorial and educational activities. By encouraging dual mentorship between the two departments, the program further aimed to foster increased collaboration between the curatorial and education teams at these institutions.

During the sixteen years of the fellowship program, the Foundation supported 103 Interpretive Fellows at 58 art museums across the United States as well as several European museums.
