Kress [1863-1955] on 15 July 1930 as Giuseppe Angeli; gift to the National Gallery of Art in 1939 as Giovan Battista Piazzetta, deaccessioned 1952 and returned to the Samuel H. Kress Foundation; gift to Chazen Museum of Art [formerly Elvehjem Art Center], University of Wisconsin in 1961, no. 61.4.2. [1] This is probalby the same as the painting lent by Grabowsky to Old Masters in Berlin Collections: Akademie der Bildenden Kunste, Berlin, July 1925, no. 229, as Domenico Maggiotto.
